Dead fish and lonely corn
Depression is a horrible ailment that can be literally unbearable. There is such an enormous disconnect that happens between you and others that it is almost impossible to explain to someone who has never suffered from depression what it is like. Hyperbole And A Half is a fantastic webcomic that is always smart and funny. The childish illustrations only accentuate how smart the actual content is.
There’s been a distinct lack of comics for the last year or so. This morning, the author, Allie Brosh, posted a comic that basically explains why. She has been a deep, deep depression. With shitty drawings and thoughtful writing, she manages to explain exactly what it’s likeāthe frustration, the sadness, the lack of sadness; or anything for that matter. Depression isn’t feeling sorry for yourself. Depression is when your brain kills your fish.
